Nominations Open for Second Year of the Award for Irish Teachers of Mathematics

Nominations are now open for the Award for the Irish Teachers of Mathematics, now at its 2nd edition. The award is given to mathematics teachers based on a set of criteria including mathematical expertise, effective teaching strategies, support for students and community.

Established in 2017, the first award received over 200 nominations. The award was won by Irene Stone and runner up Breda Disney for their commendable work in teaching mathematics.

This year, we at the Irish Mathematical Trust hope to see even more nominations than last year and are looking forward to seeing how inspiring mathematics teachers can be.

We are grateful to the Frank Kenny fund at the Community Foundation for Ireland for their support of this award.
